Sutton New Hampshire is a quaint town in Merrimack County, New Hampshire.
This community is well known around the region for its wonderful recreational amenities on the water as well as for its family-oriented mentality.
The community was originally granted by Masonian Proprietors in 1749 when it was named Perrystown. The community was so named because one of the proprietors was Obadiah Perry.
After the French and Indian War, the town was re-grant4ed in 1784, when it was named Sutton. The town was named so after a community in Massachusetts by the same name.
Today, the 43.1 square mile community boasts a population of 1,837 residents, according to data from the 2010 Census.
Education in Sutton
School-age residents living in Sutton are served by several high-performing public schools, such as:
- Kearsarge Regional Elementary School
- Kearsarge Regional Middle School
- Kearsarge Regional High School
These public schools also serve the neighboring communities of Bradford, Newbury, New London, Springfield and others.
