Originally founded in the mid-1700’s under the name Saville, Sunapee has always been a sought after location for its scenic mountains and pristine lakes. Today, the town remains small with approximately 3,000 residents according to the latest Census.

Entertainment and Attractions Around Sunapee, NH

Lake Sunapee borders the town to the east. Ledge Pond, Perkins Pond, Otter Pond and Mountainview Lake are significantly smaller than Lake Sunapee but still offer great options for canoeing and fishing. Popular fish in the area include: yellow perch, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, sunfish, brown bullheads and largemouth bass.

Mount Sunapee State Park is actually south of the town. Like Lake Sunapee, it’s a popular tourist attraction where visitors can go camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and skiing.

Community parks can be found throughout the town. Twin Village Lake Golf Course and Baker Hill Golf Club are about fifteen minutes away.
