Located in Merrimack County, Salisbury is a charming New Hampshire town with a population just shy of 1,400 as of the 2010 Census.
Originally part of Massachusetts, Salisbury was formerly known as Baker’s Town.
But when New Hampshire became its own colony, the town re-incorporated as Stevenstown in 1749. Between that year and 1768, the community changed names several times after that before ultimately becoming Salisbury.
Today, the community encompasses 40.2 square miles, with most of that land.
Education in Salisbury
Those Salisbury residents with school-age children will be pleased to find that the community is home to the award-winning Salisbury Elementary School.
For middle and high school, residents attend other public schools within the Merrimack Valley School District.
